It's the bee's knees.
It's the cat's meow.
It's where the giggle water's cold
and the cars are hot.
All you wannabe fly boys,
flappers, and floorflushers,
save the date
and everything's jake.
Put your glad rags on,
get dolled up,
and let's blouse down
to the Howard House.
Help raise a few clams for the
Fort Vancouver National Trust!
Moonlight & Motorcars
Saturday, August 1st
Doors open at 7:00pm
The Roaring Twenties -- a age of dramatic political and social change. This was a time of widespread prosperity, jazz music, and the highly disregarded prohibition of alcohol. Moonlight & Motorcars will recreate this atmosphere with live music, speakeasy bars, dancing, and even historic cars and aircraft!
The entire historic O.O. Howard House grounds will be utilized for this event. The dancing and music will take place in the Northeast courtyard, historic vehicles throughout the grounds, a 'bookie' on the front porch, and even a jail -- let's hope the event doesn't get raided by law enforcement!
Admission includes heavy hors d'oeuvre and dessert, two drink tokens, entertainment, live music, and admission to the Columbia River Concours d'Elegance the next day on August 2nd, 2015. Guests are welcome to dress up in the style of the era.
Other entertainment includes a raffle of gift baskets and a live auction. But let's not forget the main purpose of this event.... supporting the important work of the Fort Vancouver National Trust!
